I would like to put forth a few comments, and suggest an idea.
The makeup of the DC Radical Faeries has changed dramatically over the last few years. What was a tribe of 20-30 people showing up for weekly potluck dinners has condensed into a group of around a dozen or so souls. Many of the faces with us are new, though some have stayed the same. The group of people who have been acting as Circle Keepers has been slowly dissipating, though a few solid hearts still keep the hearth.
In this time when we are so small, and when we are so full of new people, new thoughts, new hearts, I feel it behooves us to take a good hard look at who we really are and what we want to see in this group.
This coming Monday, we'll be picnicing in Dupont Circle. It's also the autumn equinox, the second harvest rite, and we should be mindful of that. At Lammas we went around and asked people to put out their hopes for what they believe the group should harvest. I would propose that we carry that forward to our ritual this monday. Let's make those hopes and wishes for the group more concrete. When we gather for that picnic dinner please come ready to share your hopes and aspirations for the group, and what you believe that we as an organization should be doing this coming year. I'm going to come prepared to take notes.
If you can't be there on Monday, please feel free to share your comments here or on the website.
In 7 weeks we'll be at Samhain. The end of the year, the final harvest. I would like to see us have a death and rebirth ritual for the group.
I deeply feel we need to change the way we're operating and look ahead to where we're going, and what we can do, and how we can grow.
Blessings, Fritter

The month of September is full of energy and vitality as we go gaily bounding into Autumn. Due to Peggy and Keith journeying off into the wild wild west, we will be roaming more than usual this month. The Calendar is bizarre, and we've got a new fairy host home this month. Pay close attention to the locations, because we don't want to leave any straggling faeries behind!
And if you get confused, just call or text Fritter at 202-841-2982 to get the full scoop.
Here's the lineup!
9/7: Fritter's House, 773 Fairmont St NW, Labor Day Potluck 9/14: David & George's House, 3700 13th St NE (Brookland) 9/21: Potluck Picnic: Dupont Circle, Autumn Equinox picnic & Ritual 9/28: David & George's House, 3700 13th St NE (Brookland)
And in October we rotate back to Baba's House, November, back to Fritter's.
Tonight we're venturing into the backyard, and we're going to be grilling out at Fritter's House. We'll have two grills going. One for veggies and one for meats and we're highly encouraging people to bring side dishes and drinks. We should have all the meats and veg covered.
Last night at Faerie potluck we had our Lammas ritual. It was, as usual, a fairly simple and straightforward kind of ritual time. We went around, talked about what we're harvesting as the fruits of our labors, what the group is reaping as a whole, what our intentions for future harvesting would be and our hopes for the group.
Due to scheduling complications we will instead be meeting up at the Tryst coffee house in Adams Morgan on Monday July 20th instead of the home of Baba Niko. Tryst is just up 18th from Niko's place so, hopefully that will not be too much of a diversion from our normal activities.
July 27th Potlucks will shift for the August rotation directly to the home of Fritter, Snafu, Tophu and Notta, 773 Fairmont ST NW.
If you missed the Radical Faeries at Capital Pride, then you missed out on a hell of a show. Here's a 30 second clip of our glorious selves prepping and being in the parade.
So, we didn't want to go with the National Sex Worker's Memorial, for various reasons. And the Green Man theme was not a fully formed idea. So, in the spirit of finding the most insane solution to every problem, we decided to blend the two of them into
Environmentally Sustainable Whorehouses
Yes my friends. We will be following the trend of going green, in the sexiest ways imaginable. We'll be having a green man/woman (intersexed of course!) on our truck, bondage slaves in vegan leather harnesses, solar powered vibrators, and organically grown, locally harvested phallic vegetables for everyone! Yes my friends, this is truly a faerie extravaganza.

For the last two days the faeries have been having a grand old time celebrating the May. On monday night we had our Walpurgisnacht bonfire, and a good dozen people came round for that. It was a wonderful evening. On Saturday we trekked out to Dupont Circle and gave away about 6 bags full of candy to passersby and got 30 people to dance the maypole, and another 15 to sit beneath the maypole as they danced round. It was a glorious sight to behold.
Thanks to Baba, Fritter, Paul, Potpourri and Wayne for putting out such a wonderful event. It truly was a special thing.
Lessons Learned:
* Singing helped draw people in * Paul Carlson, our musican, really helped get people into the spirit of the dance * We could go up to 40 ribbons on the pole and add an extra 2 yards to each ribbon chain * Don't use ribbons that are over 3/4" wide. They won't weave as well.
And here's a quick little video I slapped together on Animoto with images from our 2007 Walpurgisnacht Bonfire celebration.
I just got back from Kinkos where I printed up copies of a DC Radical Faeries Spring-Along Songbook. The good news is that it looks amazingly great. The bad news is that I paid through the nose for it, because I wanted to make it color. So there are only 15 copies. If you want to get a copy I would appreciate a donation of $5 to help offset the costs of producing it.

For whatever reason last night, nearly everyone brought either a dessert or some kind of non-savory carb food and a bottle of wine. The joke being that there was some kind of oddball last supper happening, and this led to the question.
If you were to transubstantiate yourself at your last supper, what would be your foods for your faithful?
Me: Fettucine Alfredo and soy milk
But man, those two things together, not a good combo.
